Kyle and I got to spend a night in Nauvoo, just the 2 of us. Can you think of a better date? I think not! We got there in the evening time, so we stopped at the visitor's center and got our tickets to 2 of the evening shows and then we took a tour of some of the "shops" if you will in Old Nauvoo. We stopped at the bakery first and listened to the history of it and then enjoyed our complimentary cookie.
Our next stop was the Gunsmith and we loved learning about how they made the guns and the history of the Brownings, who made guns. They had some of the original guns in there and it was amazing!! The view of the temple above is the view out the backdoor of the gunsmith shop. It was amazing...literally took my breath away. We went to the shows after that and they were amazing and hilarious! Those sweet senior missionaries do an amazing job in the plays!
We walked around the temple grounds and enjoyed it's magnificent beauty all lit up that night. (Sorry for the sideways picture!!)

We began our day doing an Endowment session in the Temple. Wow!!! The beauty inside the temple is like I have never seen! They are all beautiful and amazing, but the Nauvoo Temple is my favorite on so far! I think it has something to do with all that this Temple represents, the sacrifices of the saints and the strength of their testimonies. It truly leaves me humbled. This picture was while we were on the wagon tour of Old Nauvoo! It was beautiful!

This is Joseph Smith's Red Brick Store. The Community of Christ (formerly fLDS) own it and have a gift shop in it. And they actually had the best prices on the souvenirs.

On our way out of Nauvoo, we saw these geese and goslings.
This is a bald eagle eating a fish. We saw this on our way back to Adam-Ondi-Ahman. I love to take pictures of the wildlife and nature that I see!
These are all the same sunset that we saw that night on our way home. I loved watching it progressively get more and more beautiful!!
